1. If a candidate is found to be within the maximum age limit laid down above, as on 30.6.2013, he/she would be offered appointment, if finally selected, even if he/she crosses the upper age limit at the time of actual offer of appointment. This applies even if the candidate is offered appointment from the reserve/contingency list. This is subject to the condition that the concerned reserve/contingency list remains in force at the time of actual appointment.
2. Whereas the lower age limit for all candidates is 18 years as on 30th June of the calendar year, for general candidates the upper age limit is 28 years. However, for candidates belonging to SC & ST and for displaced persons from Bangladesh (erstwhile East Pakistan) who have migrated to India or on after 1.1.1964, the upper age limit shall be 33 years. In case of physically handicapped persons, the maximum age shall be 38 years. For Ex-servicemen, the maximum age may be enhanced by the number of years of service put in by the candidates in the Armed Forces plus 3 years, provided that the maximum age in these cases does not exceed 45 years as on 30.6.2013.
