ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) Recruitment of Graduate Trainees in Engineering and Geo-Sciences disciplines will be done through GATE-2015 as detailed in this advertisement.

Note:

a) For all posts and across all categories i.e. Gen/OBC/SC/ST/PWD/ Departmental the minimum % of marks required in the qualifying degree is 60%.

13) Only for the post of Programming Officer, the IP level diploma as defined by Department of Electronics and GOI, a ‘Pass’ in the qualifying degree is the essential criteria.

c) The courses offered by Institutions/ Universities through the regular mode should be approved/ recognized by the necessary statutory bodies for employment to posts and services under the Central Government like Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/UGC/AICTE etc. Candidates who have obtained their qualification through the distance learning/ part time mode are also eligible to apply provided that their qualification is recognised by the relevant statutory bodies for employment to posts and services of the Central Government.

d) Calculation of percentage of marks in the qualifying degree is as per university/ institution rules.

e) Wherever CGPA/ OGPN CPI/ DGPA or letter grade in degree is awarded, equivalent % of marks should be indicated in the online application as per norms adopted by concerned Univ/Instt. Please also obtain a certificate to this effect from the University/Institute, which shall be required to be submitted at the time of interview.

f) In case there is no mention of specialisation in the qualifying degree as required in the Minimum Essential Qualifications above, candidates are to submit a certificate at the time of interview from their institution/ university with a
clear mention of their specialisation in the qualifying degree.

g) Qualifications mentioned in the table above are sacrosanct. No equivalent qualifications shall be accepted e.g. AMIE {Mechanical)/ AMIE(Electrical)/ AMIE(Civil) etc. shall not be acceptable as a Graduate degree in Mechanical
Engineering/Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering respectively.

h) Students in the final semester of the qualifying course of study are also eligible to apply through GATE-2015. However, they must be able to produce mark sheet and course completion certificate with minimum 60% of marks at the date of interview. (May 2015 tentatively).

ONGC SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process will comprise of the following:

a) GATE- 2015:The desirous and eligible candidates having the essential qualification for the advertised posts are required to apply and appear in the Graduate Aptitude Ted in Engineering (GATE) 2015.

b) The candidates possessing the requisite essential qualification tor the advertised posts are required to apply and appear in the GATE-2015 subjects strictly as mentioned against each post at Sl. NO. 2.1. Essential Qualification & GATE Subject with Code under Eligibility Criteria.

c) GATE Online Application Processing system website for online registration for GATE-2015 Exam shall remain open from 01/09/2014 to 01/10/2014. The candidates are required to apply online during the period.

d) GATE-2015 Exams are scheduled to be held from 31.01.2015 to 14.02.2015 on Saturdays and Sundays for different disciplines. The candidates are required to appear in the exam for their respective subjects on the designated date.

e) The GATE-2015 Scores in the subject mentioned against the posts of ONGC will be considered by ONGC for short-listing the candidates for the further selection process of Personal Interview as per the criteria decided by the
Management.

f) The candidates applying for the post in ONGC should qualify in their respective subjects in GATE-2015. From amongst such candidates, the number of candi date sto be called for interview will be in the ratio of 1:5 for each Post,
as per merit.

g) The final merit list shall be prepared based on the weightages assigned to various parameters as per following:

1 GATE-2015 Score 60 Marks
2. Interview 15 Marks
3. Qualification 25 Marks (20 marks for essential and 05 marks for the additional in-line higher qualification)
Total 100 Marks

h) In order to be selected, candidates, in addition to fulfilling qualification criteria, are required to qualify in the GATE-2015 and thereafter again in the interview separately.

i) Departmental candidates shall be given first consideration in matters of selection, while other things such as qualification, eligibility and selection criteria etc. remain the same.

j) Only GATE-2015 Score is valid for this recruitment exercise in ONGC under this advertisement. Score from GATE-2014 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid.

4. How to Apply @ ONGC

a) Candidates will have to separately apply online to ONGC for which a Link will be activated on www.ongcindia.com tentatively after January, 2015.

b) In ONGC’s on-line application, candidates will have to give their GATE-2015 Registration Number.

c) ONGC will not be responsible If candidates wrongly fill up GATE-2015 Registration Number in ONGC online application. As such, candidates should take care to correctly fill in the GATE-2015 Registration Number.

d) Candidates can apply for only one post even though they may be eligible for more than one Post.

e) Where there are no vacancies for reserved category, such candidates can apply tor Unreserved Posts, but relaxation in age will not be applicable totem,

f) The exact date and period of go live of online application registration site will be intimated by a notification in the Website of ONGC in due course. Candidates are required to visit www.ongcindia.com regularly to get the updates.

5. APPLYING FOR GATE-2015

a) For detailed information on GATE- 2015 and on-line submission of application for GATE-2015. interested candidates may visit gate.iitk.ac.in/GATE2015

OR Websites of 11Sc, Bangalore or IlTs of Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee.

6. ONLINE APPLICATION IN ONGC

a) On downloading the GATE-2015 admit card and receipt of GATE-2015 Registration number, the candidates may apply to ONGC ONLINE. The relevant link will be made available tentatively after January 2015 on the ONGC’s website

b) Candidates should click on the ONLINE application link, read the Instructions carefully and fill-In the ONLINE application form giving accurate information including the GATE-2015 Registration Number.

c) Candidates must enter the same name in the same configuration as they are entering while applying to GATE-2015. (For example, if the candidate is entering Suresh Kumar Pillai in the ONLINE GATE application, he must enter Suresh Kumar Pillai (exactly same spelling) while applying to ONGC ONLINE. He must not enter S K Pillai or Suresh K Pillai while applying to ONGC). The candidates must fill-in the other information boxes correctly and ‘tick’ the appropriate box, wherever applicable.
